不務正業（？）地跑去參加了肥胖科的活動，出來之後不知道為什麼耳朵裡就一直隱約繞著這首歌了。
Still alive 是 Jonathan Coulton 替電玩 Portal 所寫的片尾曲。在 youtube 上可以找到電玩中超級電腦的電子女聲版本，以及 JoCo 的男聲版本。
或許是因為這次活動的演講有不少統計與藥物相關的曲線？而且還討論如何讓廣大民眾可以多運動並且對抗蛋糕的魔力（←並沒有討論到蛋糕好嗎？）
說起來其實是聽了不少有趣的東西。比如有張圖是關於 BMI 與代謝症候群的關係，而且依種族分成三條線：美國黑人、美國白人，還有台灣人。雖然所有人都是 BMI 越高，代謝症候群的機會越大，但是台灣人的那條線斜率還真是比美國人高得多很多。（2004 年由 Pan 等人發表於AJCN。）
難怪之前 WHO 要調低亞洲人的肥胖標準。是說我坐在下面聽，忍不住也會想，我們這邊不喜歡女生看起來太壯，和西方人喜歡有點肌肉線條的審美觀多少有點差異，是否在肥胖的情況上也因此有些不同呢？（畢竟BMI沒有區分質量的來源是脂肪或肌肉。）
另外在職場健康的課題，講者提到在美國或日本，公司所負擔員工健康保險的費用，會隨著所使用的醫療資源而改變。簡單的說，今年員工生病次數多了，明年公司就要付更高的保險費用。因此在推動職場健康的活動時企業主都相當樂意支持，日本甚至有公司規定員工定期測量腰圍以進行體重控制的。然而在台灣，健保費用的收費水準是跟著薪資，而非使用程度，因此去找企業主推職場健康時，雇主的心態比較會偏向「我都付了員工的六成健保費，幹麼還要多花錢再請營養師和廠醫啊？」
另外還有肥胖與精神科的神秘關係。簡單的說就是精神科的好用新藥常常有讓病人變胖的副作用，而反過來目前開發中還未上市的一些新減肥藥則似乎多少有讓病人心情變差的副作用。
